Last December 17, we, the English majors in PUP San Pedro Campus, also known as the ‘Guild of the English Majors (GEMS), had our annual English Festival. The fest was supposedly be held last December 3, but because of problems in schedule and all, the officers decided to move it to December 17 and luckily, the weather permitted us to do so! SOLITARINESS

5780aOnce again, I am left with nobody but me. This is no hugot, I tell you.

I am really enjoying the house all by myself. My  family went to Batangas to attend the burial of our Grandmother there. Sadly, mama didn’t allow me to join them for me to take a rest since I’ve just recovered from illness.

Talking about that ‘illness thing’  I promised to give you an update, so there it is. I am actually okay now – alive and a little bit kickin’. My rashes have disappeared – though not totally because I can still see tiny red patches on some areas but those are very minimal. My appetite is back, so as my energy.  However, my weight loss is very noticeable that I lost my old chubby cheeks. Well, I promise I would eat and regain my weight again. Continue reading

Medicines for the sick Me

MedicineFrom the bulletin boards in our prep school, to the doors of health clinics, we always see the “HEALTH IS WEALTH” passage. It’s too passe, isn’t it? It’s only good because the words rhyme, but the truth is we’re sick-and-tired of hearing this. It’s too simple and too cliche that we take it for granted. I TAKE IT FOR GRANTED.

Last Sunday, my boyfriend and I attended the mass. Before we head home, I felt a sudden coldness. I told him that I wasn’t feeling well so he immediately sent me home. That night, I got a fever and real disturbing headache. I took my meds hoping that I would be okay the next day. Continue reading

S U M M A R Y

One night, all the animals gathered in the barn to hear the speech of Major, an old pig, inside the Manor’s Farm owned by Mr. Jones. All the animals listened comprehensively as old Major told his dream about a world where animals are free from human tyranny; where all animals live with freedom and equality; and where all animals are not afraid of being slaughtered to serve the human beings. He also told the other animals that he’s sick and was going to die soon. Not long after that night, old Major died. Truly inspired by the words of the old Major, the animals planned a rebeliion against the humans, especially to their master- Mr. Jones. The farm owner and the other farmers not being able o feed the animals triggered the revolution. It was headed by the two pigs – Napoleon and Snowball. The animals bravely fought the battle leaving the humans running out for their lives.  they won the battle and decided to change the farm’s name from Manor’s farm to ANIMAL FARM. Continue reading

Epistle #1: TO THE GUY WHO LEFT

I remember you today. I don’t know why, I just do. Well, I remember you sometimes – when I listen to the songs you used to sing to me, and when I see your long-hidden letters here in my closet. You see, I don’t forget you. I don’t forget the smiles and the cries; the truths and the lies; the joy and the pain; and most especially… the day you walked away. Continue reading

CONFESSIONS OF AN ALDUB FAN

CSNE_T-UwAEVTnH

“Mas maganda ang mga bagay na pinagtitiyagaan at dumarating sa tamang panahon. Tandaan niyong lahat, masarap umibig, masarap ang inspirasyon, huwag lang minamadali. Lahat ng bagay, nasa tamang panahon!”   – LOLA NIDORA

This is just one of the many values Lola Nidora (played by Wally Bayola) is teaching us – to wait for the ‘Tamang Panahon’.

In this generation where everything is instantaneous – instant noodles, instant coffee, and the many etceteras of instant,  people have been losing the virtue of patience to wait, and to work hard to achieve what we want. Some even want to have relationship in an instant. Continue reading

FORGIVENESS

Forgiveness

What is easier to do – to say sorry, or to forgive?

I was too preoccupied these past few days. Recently, I had a sort of misunderstanding with a classmate that all started in social media. We exchanged ramblings on our posts and comments. I must admit I was more than hurt than mad because I thought of him as a friend, he had been a good company I should say.
