CONFESSIONS OF AN ALDUB FAN

“Mas maganda ang mga bagay na pinagtitiyagaan at dumarating sa tamang panahon. Tandaan niyong lahat, masarap umibig, masarap ang inspirasyon, huwag lang minamadali. Lahat ng bagay, nasa tamang panahon!”   – LOLA NIDORA

This is just one of the many values Lola Nidora (played by Wally Bayola) is teaching us – to wait for the ‘Tamang Panahon’.

In this generation where everything is instantaneous – instant noodles, instant coffee, and the many etceteras of instant,  people have been losing the virtue of patience to wait, and to work hard to achieve what we want. Some even want to have relationship in an instant.

Kalyeserye, a segment in the longest running noontime show in the Philippines, Eat Bulaga!, has been reviving the almost-forgotten Filipino values especially in courtship. AlDub, the loveteam of Maine ‘Yaya Dub’ Mendoza, and Alden Richards/Richard Faulkerson Jr., is of no exception in being taught by Lola Nidora’s values. In every episode and in every challenges, we all learn old values being practiced in the modern generation. Lola Nidora is teaching us all that these values and virtues never grow old as long as we let them live in our hearts.

And it all happened…

Last Saturday,October 24, 2015,  the most-awaited ‘Tamang Panahon’ has come to reality. The whole casts of Kalyeserye and Eat Bulaga invited the whole nation to witness the ‘Tamang Panahon’ for Alden and Maine in the Philippine Arena, the world’s largest indoor arena with a capacity of 55,000 people. (Yes! That’s huge!). The proceeds of the concert as promised by Eat Bulaga! will all go to the making of Aldub libraries all over the nation to give public school students the opportunity to have a convenient and accessible library.

20_INC-arena2But wait there’s more…

Over 45,00 tickets have been sold in just a day or two. For the convenience of spectators,  Eat Bulaga! has allotted over 70 buses as a service or means of transportation to the Philippine Arena for free. (Take note, all for free!)
I think this is more of a charity event than just being a mere concert. It’s all for a cause! Not all TV shows and celebrities can do that.

Alden & Maine

Their moment is just too magical.

Alden, with his handsome looks in his white suit, looked like a Prince approaching her Princess.

Maine looked like a real princess that is too overwhelmed as she sees the man of her dreams coming to her.

Of course the event is scripted and planned, but their reactions are not. They are just too real and authentic that all the audience feel them.

God, look at all these photos. All emotions have been freed and let out, just like in a commercial song: real na real, real na real 😀

My confessions

I am not ashamed of being a part of Aldub fandom. I am not. What would I be ashamed for? This show is all for a cause and good purpose. It does not only bring laughter and ‘kilig’ but also values and learning. From every episode, there is a lesson to cherish. Furthermore, it extends help to schools all over the country that started with ‘Plastik ni Juan Project’ and now the ‘AlDub Library Project’.

As said by Tito Sen, “Eat Bulaga! is now a Public Affairs program masquerading as an Entertainment show.”

One more thing, it has received several awards on the 1st Catholic Social Media Awards from church-based organizations Youth Pinoy and Areopagus Communications Inc., for being a role-model and promoter of Filipino values.

I don’t care whether others would not believe in this fandom or even whether people would think I am just wasting my time and effort watching them. I DON’T CARE. All I care is that I belong to this fandom, AlDub Nation, who gives smiles to many people all over the world and helps educate Filipino students through Aldub libraries. I would also not get affected by bashers or whatever they call themselves. I wouldn’t stoop down to their level. And that’s one thing I would advise to my fellow Aldub fans and to all the part of Aldub Nation- let us just not stoop down to the level of those bashers. They are not earning anything from it, and they do not define us- they define themselves. Let us prove to them that experiencing ‘kilig’ while helping others is possible through our ‘bayanihan’.

In behalf of the Aldub Nation, I would also like to thank the whole EB staffs for always giving recognition to the efforts we do through tweets and many more. We become much stronger because you make us feel significant and relevant in the success of AlDub.

Of course, we do not only support Aldub alone but also the whole casts of  Kalyeserye, especially these three adorable Lola’s played by Wally Bayola, Jose Manalo, and Paolo Ballesteros. We see all your hardship and your versatility only to make people smile and we thank you for that!

Wally Bayola in three different characters. WOW!

AlDub’s success is indeed phenomenal that it reached the whole world. Who would have thought that one can find love and success at the same time? Well, Maine and Richard did (or at least we hope so). After all, it’s just a matter of three months we’ll never know what going to happen next. There may be many challenges and changes to come. But one thing’s for sure, Richard and Maine are happy in where they are now, and we are all happy for them. May our smiles continue to spread all over the globe. 😀

ALDUB YOU ALL!

P.S. Have you guys seen their latest McDonald’s TVC, the one with the three Lola’s? It’s super cute isn’t it? 🙂
